Edit mode
Edit mode is where settings live. Colours, sizes, fonts, wallpaper, how a widget behaves: all of it is in the editor panel, and the panel only opens in edit mode.
Entering it
Section titled “Entering it”| How | What gets selected |
|---|---|
| Edit in the title bar | The board, so you land on Board Settings |
| Right-click an item, choose Edit | That item |
| Ctrl/Cmd+E with an item click | That item |
Once in edit mode, you can select any item and edit it.
The editor panel
Section titled “The editor panel”The panel opens along the side and shows settings for whatever is selected. Click a different item and the panel updates.
It has two tabs:
- Properties: everything specific to that kind of thing: a note’s display style, a timer’s mode, a file’s icon.
- Layout: size, position, rotation and stacking order. See Resizing and layering.
If the panel is covering something you need to see, drag it out of the way by the grip at the very top of it.
Editing the board itself
Section titled “Editing the board itself”Click any empty space on the board. The panel switches to Board Settings, which holds the wallpaper, theme, font and a handful of board-wide switches.
Editing several items at once
Section titled “Editing several items at once”Select more than one item and the panel shows only the settings they have in common. Changing one applies it to all of them.
A mixed selection (a note and a file, say) has little in common, so expect a short panel. Items of the same kind share everything.
Leaving it
Section titled “Leaving it”Click Done in the title bar, or Done editing at the bottom of the panel.
